One of my favorite, so heartbreaking. I love Rahel & Esta and feel so sorry for them at the same time :((.
I felt very strong connections from this book to ¨The Poisonwood Bible¨ and that was very endearing. And yet the circular writing and the density made the book weigh heavily on me as I was reading it, and even while I wasn´t. Good. Heavy. With sounds and taste and smells.
Not my cup of tea. Although I read more than half of the book, it wasn't enough to keep me interested.

3 1/2 stars from me. I almost "really liked it", but it was a bit difficult to read. It seemed a little "jumpy" if that's an appropriate term to be used for a book.

A very verbose novel, vivid descriptions that plants detailed pictures and emotions into the reader. Complex relationships never become resolved just smoothed.
