I'm always suprised when an author chooses a different way of doing things.
For example, using prime numbers to denote the chapters in the book. Or taking the tired "misunderstood boy genius narrarator" and sticks him with a dysfunctional family and a dead dog.
I even liked the part when the narrarator explains his A-level math question at the end. The way he explained it too- impersonal, without sentiment. It's most certainly a self-absorbed section of the book that doesn't care if every reader ...more
