I originally picked up Carl Hiaasen because his covers are just so pretty (I know, I know... never judge a book by its cover, but I do anyway) and because the summary sounded really funny. However, that is not really what I got. Sure, lots of crazy, weird things happen (I mean a guy gets murdered with a toy alligator... can you get any weirder than that???), but it just wasn't funny.
