Started out slow, but ended up enjoying this haunting tale of a truly twisted family.
A beautiful tale wove within a story! Wasn't expecting to really enjoy this novel until I got past the first chapter and then I couldn't stop reading it. The prose was elegant!
I must own this title and soon, what an extreme pleasure it was to re-read so many years later. I devoured in one day and enjoyed the mystery, I thought I remembered. Secrets and pasts all tangled up with words and stories until Vida Winter decides to have her last chapter written. ...more

I really enjoyed this book. It started off a little slow for me but I'm glad I stuck with it.
