Despite all the rave reviews of this book I really didn't think I would like it. I wasn't all that intrigued by a tale of uber intellectual Classics students who go out to the woods to reenact a Bacchanal. The whole thing just seemed pretentious and I figured I'd find it annoying. Still, when I saw this at a library book sale for $1.00, I grabbed it thinking I might want it at some point. I slogged through this book to see the 5 friends get busted for that murder on page 1. They were so irritating, entitled and neurotic that the whole school hated them and they even hated each other. Probably because all they ever did was oversleep, keep secrets, borrow money and sweat an awful lot for living in Vermont.

I couldn't stop reading this book. Very mysterious and the suspense was great. Very satisfying read.
