I liked this story, it was a fast read, but somehow it missed being something special. It's the story of Emilie Seldon, who was raised during the time of Isaac Newton in the spirit of scientific inquiry, and, despite her sex, to be a natural philosopher--a scientist. I had high hopes for this one. And I fear it fell short. It was worth finishing, but I don't feel like our heroine was fully developed. At least, she didn't do what I wanted her to be capable of doing. The story was just interesting enough to finish reading it.
