I loved everything about this one. The style, the characters. JK Rowling said the character of seventeen-year-old Cassandra Mortmain is "one of the most charismatic narrators" she'd ever met--and I concur.

This is a wonderful read that deserves to be listed as a YA classic. A little bit Austen but not quite so formal. Populated by a cast of eccentric characters, the narrator is a charming 17 year old girl, Cassandra. The characters are well developed and always interesting, the story doesn't follow the happy ever after formula and at the end it left me wondering what was next for the characters - always a sign of a good read. ...more

This book just felt so familiar the entire time I was reading it, which is most likely why I adored it as much as I did, and didn't want to see it end, reading quickly, yet slowly as if to savor each page. I already can't wait to re-read this. ...more
