i wrote a 15 page paper on this book my senior year of college. it was the best thing i had read in 2 years. granted hosseini ends the book with all the ends perfectly tied, which is a bit unrealistic, it gave insight to what a pre-taliban afghanistan was like in an engrossing way where it was hard to put the book down.

I could not put this book down! It left me feeling both redeemed and troubled - plus I learned a bit about the Afgan culture. Extremely well written and gripping. Its a good reminder not to waste a second chance.

I thought this was a great book. It gave me insight to a culture/people that I have known very little about. It makes us all know there is so much more to the middle east than we understand.
