Très beau texte.
Complètement hors de ma zone de confort, je n'aurais probablement jamais choisi ce livre par moi-même mais je n'ai pas regretté de lui donner sa chance.
La lecture ne laisse pas indifférente, j'aurais un mal fou à cataloguer toutes les émotions qui m'ont assaillies. Le récit est très prenant. L'écriture est magnifique, emprunte de poésie par moments et terriblement crue à d'autres.
J'ai habituellement du mal avec les narrateurs à la première personne mais cela ne m'a pas bloquée ...more

I can understand why so many people rated this a 5. It was a beautifully written book and I will definitely continue to read more by the author but it was also very disturbing and it just never let up. That's what ultimately kept my rating to 4 stars. ...more

A touching novel with beautiful descriptions of Afghanistan and of Afghani culture. A very pleasant and visually captivating read, though sad, and sometimes tragic.
