Quite frankly, I don't see what all the fuss is about for this book. It's OK, but nothing great.
I wanted to read the novel before watching the television series, because "the book is always better than the adaptation". I'm hoping that in this case, the adage is incorrect. I'm putting this book aside and will watch the television series at some point. However, I'm in no rush to watch it.
I know for sure that I don't want to read another 740 pages of this... much less 7 more volumes of it. ...more
