I enjoyed this book about using smallpox in bioterrism. It took me a long time to read it because I didn't think I could read it before going to bed or it would keep me awake. I would definately recommend it but not to people who start obsessing and worrying about everything. Being cynical, I wish the author had put in footnotes or a bibliography so his sources could be checked. I remember Preston's previous book, The Hot Zone about Ebola, absolutely blowing me away. A non-fiction book that was more terrifying than any thriller by Michael Crichton. This didn't impress me the way that other book did, even if it did suck me in and engross me--it read incredibly fast, the kind of book you can tear through in a few hours if you're even a moderately fast reader.

This book is the true story of the smallpox virus. Richard Preston tells the story of eradicating small pox from the population but that it is not the end ot the virus. It is stored in 2 freezers, 1 in America and 1 in Russia. Or so we thought.
