From the beginning this was a bit too cutesy for me. The first person narrator and protagonist, "Goldy Bear" is a caterer in Aspen Meadow, Colorado, and her motto is "just right." At regular intervals we get complete recipes like "Dungeon Bars" and "Wild Man Wild Rice."

I have to say, I really like this book (much better than the second one, which I read first accidentally). To me, the story for this one is more compelling and a little more plausible than in the second book of the series. A teacher commits suicide (or does she?) and at her funeral a doctor is poisoned (seemingly, by the single-mother caterer). In order to make ends meet, Goldy (the caterer) needs to figure out who caused the poisoning so she can get back to cooking. Along the way, she discovers
