One of the best titles around, and apparently a real boost to the tourism trade of Savannah. Having read the book, I have joined the numbers who want to hop on a plane and go there to see the place for themselves.
This is a book about a murder, and the ripples that event caused to the people and the place. That it is true only adds to the strangeness of the story, and as time passes the author has to write himself into the story because he becomes part of it.

I read this book a long time ago but forgot that I had until I started reading it this time around. I must not have liked it much the first time because the facts don't come back to me very quickly and I've forgotten a lot of things (like Chablis) that I shouldn't have. I saw this movie back in high school and knew it was based on a book. The story was really good, even better when you realize it's all true. A good "Yankee's" view of Southern decedance.
