I. LOVE. THESE. BOOKS. SERIOUSLY. I am obsessed with this series. And you know when your brain keeps telling you that this is ridiculous, there must be a hundred books that are written better, or a better mystery, or whatever? Well, I don't care!!! This series is my ultimate guilty pleasure. I was hooked with the first one and have read the entire series thus far - including all the stupid mini books in-between. Now, those mini books I could do without and they always feel like an attempt to mak ...more

I have read this book several times. This time I decided to reread it just in time for the release of the movie. This book still makes me laugh. I am not writing a summary of the plot. If you haven't read this book yet then get on it.

The thing that stuck in my mind this time around was that part of the reason Vinnie gave Stephanie FTAs to track down (besides Stephanie blackmailing Vinnie's) was that Morty Byers was in the hospital with a ruptured appendix.

This series is hilarious and I find myself laughing out loud while my husband looks at me like I am crazy. The main character has real "chutzpa" (look it up!) Her family and friends are quirky beyond belief and her second name seems to be "trouble." Stephanie is a bounty hunter who finds herself rolling in garbage one minute and watching her car go up in flames the next. She attracts trouble like honey does bees. I must warn those of you who are a bit more conservative, you probably won't like t ...more

I didn't go into this book with high hopes. I'd heard SO much about this series, but I just wasn't sure it was my style. However, I actually liked it a lot more than I thought I would. I think a lot of that was due to the writing style...hilarious at times! Stephanie Plum is a great character, very funny, as well as flawed (which is good in a story like this).

That said, it's certainly a "fluff" novel, and I wouldn't say this got me addicted to the series. There are better mysteries/crime novels

I couldn't finish it. The author tried too hard to be funny. It got very sexually abusive towards women. I chose not to finish it because of this. ...more

This was a really quick, enjoyable read. Nothing too heavy and a nice twist on the female detective genre.
