This isn't great literature, but it is a good read. I swallowed the almost 600 pages down in two days. The beginning was a bit slow--I was frankly bored at points in the first 35 pages with all that was dumped on us about the financial world. But I felt it picked right up with the introduction of Lizbeth, the girl in the title and increasingly felt involved as the mystery about Harriet Vanger's disappearance unfolded.

half way through- its a good book, but holy cow, it makes me NEVER want to go to Sweden. The book makes it seem like its all bad weather, gross food and some serious nut jobs...not exactly a ringing endorsement.
Ok, finished. The story got exciting once it actually got going, but then after the main climax the denouement went on for ONE HUNDRED PAGES. What the what??? Someone could've used a little restraint in editing, thats all I'm saying. It ruined the whole book for it to just never end afte ...more

I had a hard time getting into this book. I had a tough time with the names of places. It was difficult because I know nothing about Sweden. I have decided I want to know more and I eventually didn't care if I could pronounce any of the places they were talking about or not. It did not take long before I was hooked and I can finally say I understand what all the fuss was about surrounding this book. I have not read a lot of mystery/thriller type books like this but I may change that. I really en

What a great book. After you make it through the first 100 or so pages the book gets so intense you can not put it down. I usually am able to read a couple of pages and put a book down, not with this book. I was up reading until 2 AM one morning and back up the next morning at 6 AM to start reading again. The suspense was so intense that all I wanted to do was read to see what was next. Cna't wait for the movie.

A bit slow to get into but after the groundwork has been laid, it's very suspenseful.

I didn't finish it. Couldn't waste anymore time. Couldn't get into it. Stopped caring.
