I really didn't think I would be into this book, because historical fiction has never been my thing. But I gave it a shot on the word of my book club, and what a surprise! I was quickly drawn into the novel and found it hard to put down. Makes me want to learn more about this period in history (and I'm definitely looking forward to the movie). Even though the book is very long, I thought it moved along quickly and had many interesting turns. ...more

I've always had a pretty big historical crush on the relationship between Anne Boleyn and Henry VIII, but for some reason I never felt the need to read this book. Although I suspect I didn't miss much, I wish I had an unabridged version of this audiobook. I read the first of these stories, and am fascinated by the Tudor story...and medieval Europe, too. Since this is not my "go-to" genre it's always harder for me to breeze through these books, so I appreciated doing this as an audiobook.

Now I want to search some non-fiction to see how much of this is true to the Henry VII story, and what happens to the Boleyns/Howards afterward.

A page-turner. I wanted to read this book before seeing the movie. I half-read/half-listened (the unabridged recording is 19 CDs) because I was intimidated by the sheer number of pages and feared I'd start/stop too many times to ever finish.

The audio is FABULOUS! I adore the narrator!
