A wild, surreal plot that derives much of its horror from the uncanny. Written with direct prose from a meandering narrator, reminding me more of Fante or Bukowski than anything hard-boiled.

i have a volatile relationship with Jonathan Carroll books(which I've mentioned before and won't get into again), of which I've read a few, but in the end he is superbly original which is of utmost importance to me and therefore I love his stuff.

Anyway- to get to the point- I can not remember if I read this book or not. This is confounding because his books always evoke a visceral reaction from me. Anyway, I'm going to assume i have not read it and get it, especially since i believe it's the onl
