This time around Heidi Belleau and Amelia C. Gormley show us how James Sheridan from Giving an Inch came to be under Professor Carson's tutelage.

A hot short about a student who needs some help in passing his history class. He goes to the professor because he's heard rumors that he could prostitute himself for a grade, but that's not really the deal. The deal is that he has to study, on his own like he normally would, and then the professor will ask questions, and if he doesn't get them right, he's punished. Very nice happy for now ending after James worked so hard to improve his grades, both to prove to himself he could do it and to please the Professor who promised to reward his accomplishments if he did well. In a kinky way of course!

An Inch At A Time is the second of a series of as yet unknown length. As good as they are, they could keep writing them for awhile and not lose me! The third one, entitled Good Boy is expected out in October. Belleau and Gormley make a great writing team. The breaks between authors is seamless.

James Sheridan is failing History. James has had a tough couple of years. An addiction to prescription pain killers landed him in rehab his parents couldn’t afford. His grades last year were abysmal. James Sheridan is failing History. James has had a tough couple of years. An addiction to prescription pain killers landed him in rehab his parents couldn’t afford. His grades last year were abysmal. If he fails this semester, he is afraid he will have to drop out of college completely.

Thankfully, James hears a rumor about his History professor. It seems that Professor Carson is a “pervert” and is not opposed to giving out good grades in exchange for certain favors. James shows up at Carson’s house to learn a valuable lesson. While Carson is indeed bent, he is also too ethical to give a grade not earned the old-fashioned way. The deal they strike has Carson tutoring James. If and only if James aces the final exam will they have sex.

James begins tutoring with Carson. The arrangement is that after each two-hour study session, Carson will quiz James and James must accept the consequences for his wrong answers. Those consequences involve a ruler, Carson’s hand and James’ rear-end.

Something amazing begins to happen to James. He is understanding what he is studying. He has also realized that he really likes being spanked. He starts answering questions wrong just to get spanked. He likes being with Professor Carson. He wants to spend more time with him, outside the tutoring and classroom.

This little story packed an amazing, page-turning punch. I read it in one sitting and wanted more. Belleau and Gormley made it believable that a BDSM neophyte discovered a love of corporal punishment so quickly. They made it believable that these two men, so different in many ways were alike in those that mattered. I’ll let you discover on your own to what the title refers, but the whole story is scorchingly hot.

So, grab this book and some quiet, uninterrupted time and lose yourself to the sexiness. You will not regret it. Smolderingly recommended.
