Okay, let's all just take a moment to love on the perfect chin of that dude on the cover...

Actually, everything about this cover is awesome. I adore it.

So, inside the cover is a very sweet, somewhat melodramatic cowboy romp. Cowboys are not a genre I typically read, so this was like a nice little boots-and-spurs vacation. With a shit-ton of angst. I enjoyed the story, and I found the writing fell into a believable country voice. The editing was, as far as I could tell, flawless, and currently,

LC is KILLING ME with the angst (which means, of course, that I'm loving it...) I should finish tonight!

UPDATE:

Loved. Guilt. Angst. This wasn't a book about misunderstandings or small fights - there were big, personal issues involved. A price paid for a victory...at one point I was like, 'how is she going to pull this off for these guys?" But LC did beautifully. Highly rec. Bring tissues.

Hot Cowboys coming to terms with how they fit in the world after a traumatic childhood that left lasting scares. Heart-wrenching and super hot. Tripp Colby is at the top of the Rodeo world. But he lives deep in the closet. He isn't self-loathing or anything like that, he knows he is gay and he is involved in a monogamous relationship with Marty... Until his fears cost him said relationship. The problem lies in Tripp's past. He is so fearful of people finding the real him that he lets down Marty ...more

This was "meh" for me, didn't quite win me over. Not a bad light cowboy romance really, just not my fav.

but If you are looking for some cowboy love, this will work for you.

This was a quick and simple read. It wasn’t anything extraordinary, but I didn’t hate it.

I thought Chase spent a bit too much time setting up for her next book in the series. She didn’t go into detail, but it’s obvious who going to hook up in the next book.

This book also had that ‘meddling friends and family members’ trope that I’m not very fond of. I liked that Marty had a close-knit family and two very supportive best friends. However, when you have this trope in books, it always takes away t

I just didn't connect with this story very well. I didn't like either character to much so I didn't connect with them. Tripp is the typical closet case and at the beginning of the book I was glad Marty had kicked him to the curb. But towards the middle of the book when Tripp tries to explain why he is hesitant to come out I really began to dislike Marty's character as well. For Marty there was no compromise at all with Tripp, he wasn't willing to wait a little bit or have any patients with Tripp ...more

I read a few negative reviews of this book but I loved it. I really empathized for Tripp while I still wanted to smack him. I felt like Marty was a strong enough MC that I didn't pity him, but I felt for him.
Im dying for the next one!

This story is filled with melodrama and hindrances of all kinds. Marty’s a pickup man, rescuing rodeo cowboys from bucking bulls and raging horses, and he’s also out and proud. Tripp, his secret lover of many years, is a rodeo champion, so deep in the closet he can barely see daylight. Not even Marty’s accident can prompt him to leave the safety of his self-imposed exile. Marty decides then to cut him loose, a lost battle. Yet they’re in the same business, and can’t avoid one another. Their pass ...more

I normally love stories about a gay make in the closet.  This just had all kinds of problems.  The story or reason why Ty stayed in the closet seemed silly to me.  I didn't connect with either Of the MCs.  They just didn't come to life for me.   ...more

This was a sweet story about an in-the-closet bull rider and his out and proud pickup man. Marty has been out for years and is tired of his lover, Tripp, pretending he's nothing to him in public. When he finally breaks it off, Tripp does everything he can to get Marty back, but first he needs to confront the demons of his past.

Overall, a cute story.
