These are definitely dark, uncomfortable SHORT reads. Again, they push my hard limits. The fuss I have about this series is that each story is way too short, making it a long time waiting for the next installment AND making it an expensive read. I realize authors need to make money but you can't help feeling taking advantage of with stories this short and this expensive. Just my humble opinion.

This is fucked up!!! Completely fucked up!!

This is messed up to the point that it hurts to read but I just can't stop. I want to know what is going to happen and I want Mat and Dougie out off that fucking twisted place. Isn't there a single soul kind enough to help them ?? This is not right in so many levels.

I just love Mat. How can somebody be so damn strong ??? In a matter of few day Mat have been trough hell and back hundreds of times but still menages to be his strong and kind self. Eve ...more

Alright, this series is a lot better than I initially gave it credit for. Well, maybe it got better because it settled into the setting? The development in this one was nice. It was brutal, even visceral at times. The way the characterization is handled and the ideas Haimowitz evokes are balanced nicely within the setting and the characterization of the secondary and tertiary characters.

And in a weird way, it was humanity-affirming. I felt more human because of the horror I had felt during some ...more

Beautifully written - I feel devastated for the two brothers; the horror of their current situation and fear of what is coming next. They've been through so much already.
I find myself wishing someone would rescue them - but that's just wishful thinking on my part. Very glad this is serialised - I needed the break; this is too intense to read much more in one go. Although the break until next year seems a long time right now!
