I am a fan of dark stories and Aleksandr Voinov’s assassin Silvio is one of the darkest, emotionally complex, unpredictable characters I have read. Add the violence of a mafia war and deviant sexual behaviors and you have a story that doesn’t just push the envelope, it pushes it off a freaking cliff and I loved every minute of it. Even with the dark themes there was still a story of love, sacrifice and trust.

I find it difficult to rate the individual books. To me they felt more like chapters then stories. I'm glad I waited reading after the series was complete

+ Mood, darkness
+ Very intense
+ Emotional
+ Silvio

- Besides the attraction and lust there wasn't much story
- The end. I don't understand why Stefano didn't include Silvio in his choice to quit the maffia. I don't believe how Silvio could forgive Stefano so easily for abandoning him.

Amazing!

Dark, gripping, I couldn't put it down. Not your conventional love story by far.

Voinov certainly knows how to push me well outside my comfort zone, while still keeping me perfectly safe...mostly.

The ending was perfect and I couldn't see it rightly ending any other way. (view spoiler)
