is it really going to end in Dark Soul 5!!!!

this was definitely a "no going back" chapter to the story of stefano and silvio. a bit worried for franco and my heart goes out to donata. she's a smart woman though, hoping that will work to everyone's advantage and not be their downfall :(

the pressure stefano is feeling, the under bosses giving him problems, the russians, his addiction to silvio, his guilt for donata..

whoa... book 5 has a lot to resolve.. but Alexsandr can pull it off! can't wait! ...more

The tension is off the charts in this fourth installment in Aleksandr Voinov's ground breaking series that makes an assassin someone you can't help but be drawn to. That draw is the same for Stefano Marino who's tried to ignore his feelings for Silvio Spadaro and just can't fight the truth of his feelings any longer. With his wife Donata suspecting him of cheating and some of his underbosses thinking him weak, Silvio's the only one who can put his mind at ease at least for a little bit. That draw is the same for Stefano Marino who's tried to ignore his feelings for Silvio Spadaro and just can't fight the truth of his feelings any longer. With his wife Donata suspecting him of cheating and some of his underbosses thinking him weak, Silvio's the only one who can put his mind at ease at least for a little bit. Someone else who brought a bit of comfort to Stefano's mind and who I'd love to see again was Franco who has just as many emotional issues as his brother. He gives some much needed insight into Silvio that Stefano will need to form a stronger connection to the young assassin in the future.

Once he and Silvio come together the intensity of the scene is combustible. Stefano wants their time together to mean something, but for the emotionally challenged Silvio he can't admit to it being more. I felt badly for Stefano throughout this entire book. He's trying to remain honorable and not disappoint others but accepting the truth of his feelings will change everything. He thought by finally being with Silvio things would be clearer but instead things have just gotten more complicated.

This story was very emotional with a main focus on Stefano's feelings and indecisions. We got to know him better in this story by seeing a different side to him than the one he shows others. I liked him before and liked him even more through seeing him struggle with the weight of the world on him. Silvio still remained a bit of an enigma in this book. Dangerous and deadly, yet very enthralling. Whenever he comes on the scene you can't help but notice him and I'll be especially sorry to see his story end.

The books so far have been like a roller coaster starting out smoothly and heading for the top. We're now left in breathless anticipation for the fast-paced out of control end of this story and the decision of a lifetime that Stefano will have to make. That decision being to remain true to the family that was given to him or the family he created and I can't wait to see what his answer will be. ...more

I do not judge short stories on the rush of their relationships, because they are just that - short stories. So, yes the relationships always could have been drawn out more, yea it seems like they fall in love to fast and of course the story could have been made longer... but it is a short story. So with that said.... here is my review...

Dark Rival I ~ Stefano is starting to feel the heat. But this time, instead of the heat coming from the enemy... It is coming from his own "family." That is never a good sign when your family starts to doubt you or your actions. Threads start to unravel and things start to slip... All the while, Stefano is learning a few hard lessons about himself but those lessons might come with a price he's not willing to pay. Or is he? The drama, the intense suspense, and the affairs keep getting darker and darker. Aleksandr, you are a wicked person! The story just keeps getting better. And damn you for making me stay up late reading it! Now off to read...

Dark Rival II ~ The war may be over but Stefano is still fighting a battle... But is it a losing battle? Is it going to be one where he gains all that is needed to win or is he going to lose everything and have nothing and no one to run to when it's over? Stefano is playing a dangerous game, one where someone is bound to get hurt... Lives have been lost, trust is slowly bleeding away, and love is giving way to lust. One wrong word could crumble his life.... Will Stefano stand up and be the man he needs to be, the boss he declares himself, the leader of the family... Or will he succumb to the ways of a coward and run? Damn this story is getting better and better!

Dark Temptation ~ Oh damn, it looks like the dam has broke and Stefano has just about lost his control when it comes to Silvio. The story is not over... Nope... There is more to come with book five. Of course there is more... Why because we have to find out if Stafano can have his cake and eat it too, I mean just because the Russians are put out of their misery doesn't mean there will not be retaliation from someone... Or hell, who knows if his own "family" won't try to turn over his position. There is always mutiny brewing up... Or is that the affairs... Hummmm... Who knows??? ...more

I am once again unable to write a review that will give another book in the DS series justice. So you know what? I wont! I am just going to gush all my feelings out, rave about Stefano&Silvio, and contemplate why the ménage I wanted between the Spadaro brothers and Stefano didn’t happen. I am looking at you Aleks =_=.

So three stories in this one, once again triple the power in pants losing. Stefano is at a crossroads, and all the intersections are leading to Silvio. The relationship between 4.5

The relationship between him and his wife is getting strained, family crime values is looking dire, and Stefano feels like his whole world is out of control.

While reading I felt somehow dissatisfied with something, unable to pin point exactly what I wasn’t happy with. It’s like all these emotions and feelings are coming out, things need to be said but all I am getting is thoughts in Stefano’s head, but his mouth doesn’t freaking move. This overwhelming need for a praecipe, because someone needs a push or an order for things to get done. All the fill in the blanks dialogue, was irking me until I realized that Stefano is just unable to deal with exactly what he is feeling, and you can fill in all the blanks with any random ole shit but what is left unsaid is more powerful than anything.

In all this I feel for Stefano’s wife, because if it was just fucking that Stefano had to do he would just be that cheating bastard, but its more and as much as he loves his wife ‘sometimes love is not enough’. Yes very sad for Donata, but happy in my pants when Silvio and Stefano finally come together. Shower scenes, hotel queens, and drugstores. My pants burst into flames, but the flame wasn’t enough to engulf them (did Mr Voinov keep it slightly tame for a reason?) I believe so my friends because you can’t give your all when you’re not completely on board with what you are feeling. My men were holding back, and DS4 left me once gain with more questions than answers. Will it work? What choices will Stefano make? Will I crack the code that is Silvio? (like Davinci code) Will my men find happiness?

Overall, really liked this one and can’t wait to dive into Dark Soul #5 where it all ends. This series continues to be extraordinaire, and its one you are likely never to forget. The characters are superb, the writing captivating, and the Dark Soul world powerful. For all that is sweet and holy, I love me some Silvio and Stefano and I won’t be able to let them go. ...more

D coming home from Italy and her feelings really let the whole cheating factor sink in and made me reevaluate my opinion of Stefano. The first story left me feeling empty. The more I get to know the mobster, the less I like him. Weird. Franco leaving was disappointing, but not a shocker. Hopefully he will get his own story one day. I didnt feel the sexual tension like in the previous reads and I really missed it. A good read.

They fascinate me. All these characters just fascinate me. Stefano and Silvio, of course, but Donata and Franco too. This is one thing that the author does well, I think. Create memorable and layered characters - no cardboard cutouts here!

A purely shallow moment - I must say that the image of Silvio in his leathers, on his bike... OMG, so damned hot. :)

What also has totally hooked me is the evolution of Stefano. Up until Dark Temptation I was thinking of him being in his early 40s, but he's yo ...more
