Certain comments, actions and attitudes get the best of him still and he must work hard at controlling his temper to react accordingly.

In comes Cory. We met Cory in Let it Ride where he was a newbie on the rodeo scene. Young, sweet and openly gay, Cory tries to see the best in people.

Although warned to stay way from Scott, he can't deny his attraction the the rough-looking cowboy. This leads him to form a friendship with the man where sexual tension runs under the surface at each encounter and mixed messages reign.

I liked this story very much. I loved that Scott's growth wasn't wrapped up in a pretty bow. His journey was hard and full of obstacles that tested his will to do the right thing. I loved how affected he was by the kindness Cory showed him and how he came to rely in the friendhip Cory offered.

Now, here's where my mixed feelings come in. I loved how Cory and Scott grew closer with each interaction they exchanged, but I feel another aspect of their relationship was looked over. I love my sex scenes, especially when they bring the main characters closer. Although I don't necessarily think sex makes or breaks a relationship, I do think that the lack of sex in Cory and Scott's case took away from their story. Especially since Scott what so adamant to act of his attraction to men.

Nevertheless, LC Chase didn't miss a beat in bringing forth Cory and Scott's connection. A fact that helped tremendously to cheer them on to get their issues sorted out.

All in all, an overall enjoyable read that showed how far a man can go when he has the right support system to help him through.

Didn't think Scott could be redeemable. Turns out I was wrong. I enjoyed this story, but I really didn't expect a story about a guy finally accepting his orientation to be nearly devoid of sex. I truly expected to see many more of his firsts in that regard. It made the book feel unfinished to me. ...more
