As my first Voinov, I'm not sure how it went. Judging from what I've read and heard about Special Forces (I know, I know, I have to read it -- I swear I will) and other reviews of this book I was expecting more violence. For some reason this book just did stir too much in me. There wasn't anything wrong with it and it had an interesting world. I just didn't feel alot for the Brooklyn or Nathaniel. I didn't feel any sparks between them really and I'm not sure where the attraction for each other came from. I certainly didn't feel alot of romance from the MC and even the Master/slave dynamic felt lacking to me. ...more
