It was hard to read the beginning of this book with the use of the "n" word so often used. Both of my daughters are half-black & I cringed every time the word came up! I had to take a step back & think/read the book as back in the 1850's. It was still hard to read through the examples of horrid owners that treated their slaves so horrible. I thank God that times have changed. ...more
