I can't remember the last time I devoured a book so quickly, but felt both horrified and repulsed by the content matter in it. This novel, set in a distopian future where women are property, chronicles the life of one woman living in this Old Testament style post-America.
It jumps around a lot, and the writing is very internal and stream of consciousness, but I felt it was completely appropriate for the narration being laid out. It made everything feel scary, hopeless, and nostalgic.
