This is a lovely little book, that I suspect is a real rites of passage for this first time novelist. It is quite straightforward and is almost a little Enid Blyton make believe in its narrative style, but that's where any similarity ends. It deals with refugee status and d explains what it is to be a refugee in a way that younger primary school children will understand. The setting is largely a school so it is easy to relate to.
