I loved this book. Having really enjoyed The Bone Sparrow I wasn't sure that this would be as good, but if anything it was even better. It is a strange combination - both a gritty real life exploration of people trafficking and the threats and dangers of young people who get caught up in it, but placed oddly enough in an almost 'magical realism' setting. A hugely important topic that is not often tackled. This was gritty and gruesome as four children battle against their dire circumstances.
