Catching Fire (The Hunger Games, #2) in Hunger Games Trilogy

This is the sequel to The Hunger Games my most favorite book of 2008 on to forever. In this sequel Katniss and Peeta have both ade it out alive. To the surprise of everyone, esspecially the Capitol. And they really don't like to be surprised. And unfortuantely not everyone believes that Katniss and Peeta held up the berries out of love, to them it was out of defiance to the Cap *EDIT* why the BALLS did I recommend this to planters... what's wrong with me... but whatever, the book's still amazing!

They might be right. Or very very wrong. And either choice will come up with consequences. Katniss and Peeta have to prove that they love each other to everyone in the Capitol, and it's making Katniss wary. She might just be developing feelings for Peeta, and where does that leave Gale.

I think I loved this one more than The Hunger Games, which I didn't think was possible. I remember when I first got this I was terrified to read it, worried that Collins might screw it up and it would be a big disappointment. Boy was I freakishly WRONG. It was AMAZING. Katniss grew alot more and started to let more people in, not just shutting the whole world out. The love triangle heightened alot. There's more Gale and we get to see what he's like. Which made me decide I love Peeta a whole lot more. Don't get me wrong. I love Gale, but he's just so wrong for Katniss. In my mind he's gasoline, and everyone knows what happens when you put Gasoline and Fire together. KA-BOOOM!!!! Yeah, and poor poor love struck Peeta. I think I love him even more in this one. You get to see more of his real personality. He's the sweet baker who would give her up if it means her happiness, he's so selfless! And that's the real theme of The Hunger Games Trilogy. Selflessness. Katniss was willing to give herself up for Prim, Peeta and Katniss were willing to give up themselves for each other. And it's all just so amazing. If you've read The Hunger Games, Catching Fire will definatley not dissapoint! ...more

Oh, Mrs. Collins. How you never stop amazing me with your Hunger Games. This book, Catching Fire, was even more enjoyable to me than the Hunger Games. Every chapter ended with either a "WTF?" or "OMG!" I just had to keep on reading it. of course, it ended with me wanted more. Just left on a cliff-hanger. There's no doubt I'll be reading the third one and telling everyone I know that they need to read these books! It had more twists and more excitement than I expected.
