I had trouble writing a review of this, and instead started reading it a 2nd time with Jesse to see if anything will come to mind after a 2nd read. It's definitely hard to put down, and more of the same, and I think that there's just no way that anything can possibly live up to the promise of the first book, for me, since I fell for it so hard. I think it's 4 1/2 stars, but we'll see when I'm done again.

Catching Fire, Book 2 in the Hunger Games series….what can I say other than this trilogy is fantastic, amazing, addictive and one of the best I’ve ever read. The Hunger Games (Book 1) was so wonderful – I wasn’t sure Suzanne Collins could top it – but she did it for me with Catching Fire! The last 20 pages or so, I was refusing basic human function - I was so compelled to finish and completely sucked into this world. This book will make you laugh out loud, cry, wonder, fall in love, hate, all at the same time! The action is non-stop which makes you not want to put the book down! Simply AMAZING! August 24th cannot come soon enough!

You know, I really wanted this to be about the after-effects of such a huge, traumatic experience. The hero returns to the Ordinary World and finds it changed - but the change is actually in her. How does she deal with that?
Answer: she doesn't! because there are O NOZ MORE DANGER!

What a great book! I knew this was going to be one of those "I'm gonna read this book in one day" kind of book and it totally was. I can't wait for book three!

I can't decide if this should be a 4 or 5. I did love the book, but it falls a little below the first book simply because what happens is no longer as shocking to me as when I read the first book. But don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed the book and can't wait to start Mockingjay!

As satisfying as Hunger Games - left me aching for volume III (as yet untitled) due out in 2010.
LOVED IT!
I read this sequel to "The Hunger Games" in an afternoon (let's just say, the laundry didn't get touched, but all children were fed and retrieved from school). I love this storyline and characters - some jarring twists. I'm trying to persuade my husband to read at least the first one, so we can talk about. I think the series has great appeal for both men/women, and probably all ages from teen and up.
