I really love the world and the characters Ward's created and I look forward to every installment with baited breath. I have quite the crush on Manny. I mean, who doesn't love a man who loves A7X and Bullet. Very good taste in music. And he's quite the gentleman.

V and Butch have their own little love affair going and Blay and Qhuinn break my heart.

Ward sometimes overstuffs the plots but it's her playground and she has such a firm grasp of what's going on that I can only admire and keep reading.

Absolutely loved it. That JRW is the Queen of PNR. So sad to have to be through with this book, would love for the story to continue on another 500 pages. Loved V & Jane, V & Butch, V & Payne, Manny & Payne. Don’t want to spoil anything, but the part with Manny and Jane going to the Mansion until the very end was my favorite part. Wasn’t sure how things would work out for Manny but the way everything tied together was fabulous. OMG just loved it, So happy we got more of Butch, V and Jane. Amazin ...more

*2.5* I don't even know what to say , except I am truly disappointed in this latest book by J.R. Ward. Had she not redeemed herself by adding tidbits here and there about Payne and Manny this book would've gotten one star!! I thought I was done reading about Vishous when I finished his book, it's like he got a whole other book about himself!!! Vishous= no bueno in my book!!!!!' ...more

So far I have liked all the Black Dagger Brotherhood books, and this book is no different. Even though this book was supposed to be Payne and Manuelo's story, it seemed to be more an update of Vishous and Jane. I actually liked the fact that author continued to write about V and Jane!

Payne is a sister to Vishous and she has been kept imprisonment by their mom, the Scribe Virgin. While sparring with the king Wrath, she has an accident and breaks her back which is the worst thing what could happen

Loved this book!!! I don't know where to start. I think it is one of her best written books because the pacing and the storyline was very fast and consistent. A definite page turner. She didn't have 5+ story lines going on at the same time. Additionally, I have always felt that her weakest area was her antagonists. Previous to book 8, I found the antagonists to be painful to read through. I had no emotional connection to them - not even anger towards them - and would find myself having to count ...more

It was a long break from the last book of this series to the current one. I have read a lot of other books from great authors and yeah, because of the many experience I collected during the time I have to say I was a disappointed by J.R. Ward.

When I started with the first book of the series I was fascinated and happy. But during the last books in the series it was a continues way down. And now the new book didn’t take a turn. The language is very… grossly and annoying. Always the word “Fuck” on

I liked this, though to be honest, it felt like it was more of a stepping stone for future stories (intro of the Band of Bastards) then Payne & Manny's story, since they were not in a lot of it. The entire V/Jane/Buths storyline was beautifully done though. So much growth for all of them. I always loved the Butch/V connection and the penthouse scene totally sealed that relationship. Butch rocks.

I think by far my favorite quote was V … in his words, “I have no words. Sixteen languages, but no w

WOW!! I think this is my favorite next to John Matthews story. There is so much going on in this book. Vishous/Jane, Payne/Manny, Vishous/Butch, and Quinn/Blay. And new characters are introduced. There are plenty of unanswered questions in this story, the war with the "lessers" doesn't progress much, and there are the new characters to whose true purpose is unclear. And this story has a whole lot more sex going on....with everyone. I was hooked into this story and couldn't put it down. JR Ward i ...more
