I had this recommended to me several times, and just kept draggin' my feet. No clue why... it just ended up that way. Boy, oh boy, it was much more fun than I anticipated! I will definitely continue the series to see what happens... I'm curious if book #2 focuses on the same couple or moves on to another or what.

I’ve been a fan of the paranormal genre since I was in high school and Anne Rice came out with her Vampire Chronicles. Since then, I’ve read thousands (literally) of paranormal and urban fantasy novels. As much as I love them, it isn’t often an author comes up with a unique idea that stands out from the rest. Susannah Sandlin did with Redemption. I loved it.
I love the idea of the vaccine that has rendered human blood poison to vampires, and that they are facing a vampire crisis with thousands of ...more

I finally nabbed a copy of the third book in this series, but then realized it had been a year or so since I read the first two books... so guess what that meant? Right, re-read time!
While I am enjoying this series overall as it's an interesting 'take' on an urban fantasy primarily focused on vampires, but I'm not sinking to my knees and pledging my fangirl card. With that being said, obviously, I am still re-reading this series and continuing to buy and read more recent books in the series. So ...more

This was pretty good - about a 3.5-4* for me. This was the first book in this series and there perhaps could've been a little more world building. The basic synopsis was strong enough but there were some things that were not explained well enough for me. In fact at one point one of the characters even says something like "That's just the way it is. I don't know why". So a little more effort in that aspect would've been good, unless of course things will be further explained as the series continu

I give this book 3.5, only because I couldn't put it down and finished it in a day. But I had major issues with the fact that I needed more description, I was so confused and found myself re-reading to try to visualize the scene before me.... Too much effort honestly and I read trashy supernatural books because it shouldn't take that much effort!

It's like the usual romance vamps story . The usual gist. Romance, uncontrollable hard on, attraction, etc. etc. not much of a vamp story but more of romance. Go for it. (y)
