I really love DB Reynolds Vampires in America Series. It makes me think of the Godfather—only with vampires. It’s a fantastic series and DB Reynolds always does great characters with a very strong hero and heroine. Like Cyn, Kathryn is independent and can hold her own—and even help—the vampires. I was a little annoyed with Kathryn’s inability to admit her feelings for Lucas, but she came around in the end. Lucas is, by far, one of the best books in the Vampires in America series. Lucas has a suave personality that would melt anyone's heart and the fact that he wasn't paired with a whiny or bird-brain woman was great. Lucas, next to Raphael, is a powerful Vampire Lord who is going to war with a rival vampire named Klemens over territory encroachment. It's been a while since I read a Vampires in America book and this one did not disappoint! This is Lucas and Kathryn's story. Lucas was smoking hot and Kathryn was tough as nails for a human!
