What Members Thought

This was a re-read - this time the audio version. It was only $1.99 because I had the kindle version so I thought what the heck. I was considering reducing the stars from 5 to 4 because i enjoyed other Alexander books much more. After the re-read I decided it deserves the 5 stars. It's LOL funny, as many of her books are, the MCs are very likable as are the secondary - well except the ones that are intentionally not likable. I loved how the relationship developed and how they worked through prob

Looks like I'm in the minority on this one, but Robin Alexander's cooky old ladies really missed the mark in this novel, and they basically ruined the entire reading experience. I know that's her thing--these zany old women (or previous-gen characters--I don't think they're always women), but it gets tired really quickly. And the problem is the romance in this is really lovely, but if my great aunt called me a "little shit" and a "slut" I wouldn't be hanging around with my family or believing an

I really liked this book. The humor was fantastic.
Merged review:
While this isn't my favorite of the author's books that I've read (that goes to Scaredy Cat) I do like this one a lot. I liked it even more the second time around.
My second read is the audio version. The narrator did a good job for the most part. I wish there had been a bit more of a difference between the voices for the main characters and that Tina didn't sound so, I don't know, harsh all the time.
I probably would have gone 3.5 ...more

Is the perfect mate out there? That is the question. The possible answer, the perfect mate for you, yes. Where to find that mate, now that is the "can of peas". What a fun read. I enjoyed the realization that develops between the main characters. There is much to like about Lena and Jorie as they search for their perfect mate. The supporting characters are a hoot. Jorie's grandmother and aunt, what a pair. I also enjoyed the support of Lena's brother as he found a way to "help out".

This one took me awhile to get into. I finally put it down and read a couple other things in-between. Then a few days ago I picked the book back up and I'm glad I did. At the 50% mark I was fully involved and enjoying the story. Not my favorite but definitely worth the read.
