I tried four times to read this book. Each time I got lost in the exquisitely rendered physical and emotional details and the large cast of characters. I found myself distracted by the language, sometimes so perfect it could be poetry. Tig Ashton can turn a phrase! But the details also clogged the story line at points. It was pretty good. I went into this expecting a predictable love story of an escort and her client, but it was so much more than that. For instance, the book it's not just about these two characters, but a few more, two of them having a significant part in the story and with some chapters written from their perspective. And the main story is not as straightforward either.

It was really entertaining and well written overall. I really enjoyed it.
