My, my, my what a read. This is a history lesson, an airplane lesson, a landscape lesson, a soul searching storyteller lesson but above all a story of perseverance and friendship. Gut-wrenching and memorable.

I liked the idea of this story but the pacing was very strange. Two climactic revelations happen in the middle of the book and from there to the end it’s mainly falling action. POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD. I tried to keep it vague, but if you're interested in reading this book, don't read any reviews.

I'm really struggling knowing what to say about this book. I didn't love it. I struggled to read it most of the time. I hated how it ended but loved it too. But this book is well written. The only thing anyone who has read Code Name Verity will undoubtedly tell you about Code Name Verity: go into it knowing nothing. It's true, you shouldn't even be reading this review. Code Name Verity is such a wonderful, wonderful book. It's also impossible to describe. It's about friendship, and bravery, and determination, with painfully good writing on top of everything else. I listened to the audio version, which is also so, so well done..

Basically, this book is wonderful. Believe the hype.
