Nice read. Author clearly knows her Greek and the history of the Greek occupation by the Germans in WW2.
The characterisation was a little two dimensional, but within the context of the story totally forgivable. The romance seemed to happen impressively quickly, and I had a slight concern as Zoe appeared very young - by my reckoning 16 at the point where the story picks up.
Still an enjoyable read that I hope is continued in the next in the series.

This wasn't the first time I've read this story. The first time was during the start of my time in the Xena fandom in the way back (or college) the early 2000s or so. It was one of the first non-fanfic lesbian fiction novels that I read ever, although I read it on a computer screen and not in a print book (And I find it ironic that this time I read it on a screen too, a Nook Simple this time. I've only ever read it in a non-electronic form, what a world).

Author Brooks doesn't quite master the historical intricacies that Waters does, but does offer a setting in Greece which is new & exciting for me. I would have preferred even more character development and details, however, "In the Blood of the Greeks" has quite an interesting cast of characters and some surprise twists and turns. One of my favorite historical romance fiction novels. Love the slow build up between the two main characters. Could read it again and again.

I love this book so much, I really do. It's my favourite romance. Currently reading it for the 4th time :)
