What Members Thought

Giddy with excitement--that best described how I felt when this book dropped on Netgalley. Of course, that was immediately tempered by the realization that this is the third book in the series, featuring the same couple, in the same general settings, with essentially the same cast of supporting characters and... handling yet another violent crime. The novelty has worn off long ago. So...can the author still come up with something fresh and exciting, while reusing all the usual elements from the

I'm not going to rate it because that would be tacky as hell, but Nicola Vincent has done a splendid job with the narration and I loved every damn minute of it.

I loved every audiobook in this series. Cari writes superb crime drama that keeps you on the edge of your seat and still manages to infuse great romance and humor.
She also was fortunate enough to get a great narrator, which is dreadfully rare in lesbian fiction audio books.
I wish she had more books out, I'm never disappointed. ...more

I'm not sure I can say anything that hasn't already been said. This is an amazing 3rd installment of an amazing series by Cari Hunter. If you haven't read them...you should. This 3rd book did not disappoint. I can't decide if it's my favorite or not. It's definitely the most exciting. Literally filled with pretty non-stop action and just enough twists that you can't see what's coming. Please Cari Hunter...let there be another...

Book 3 in the Dark Peaks series and I couldn't love Meg and Sanne more. Would recommend having read books 1 and 2, as in this book, Meg and Sanne are already a couple. If one wants to understand how they got to this point in their relationship, the first 2 books went through all that. So, this is not really a romance - that's quite secondary. It's a police procedural/mystery involving a dead child. This brings us into the very dark world of sex trafficking. There are also slice of life looks int

A Quiet Death is the most recent book from one of my favorite authors and it did not disappoint. Hunter tells a story with solid pacing and well-chosen if sometimes gritty detail. Something I like is her use of colloquialisms that add authenticity to her portrayal of the Peak district. [I'm assuming that chooks are chickens.] Sanne and Meg are two unique characters whose lives I enjoy sharing and I'm growing fond of the supporting cast in the stories. More please.

Another great installment. I loved the continued progress of the relationship between Sanne and Meg. They are so perfect for eachother and understanding of eachothers needs, and in tune to what drives each of them. They allow eachother to just be who they are without judgement, or justification. It's lovely to see a couple so accepting and supportive. They just 'get' one another and bring out the best in eachother too, and all that makes me sigh!

Another winner from Cari Hunter. I really like the two main characters in this series, but I find myself becoming a big fan of Eleanor too. I almost had to find a British translator a few times, but I love the fact that Cari writes what she knows. And she does that very well. Reading this series makes me feel like I've been on a visit to the Peak District and I need to come home, make a warm cup of tea, and wrap up in a blanket.
As always, I'm looking forward to the next one! ...more

I think this is the best of the the books in the Dark Peak Series. The main characters have really got into their stride and I felt like I could bump into them at the corner store. The criminal case in this book is pretty dark: human trafficking for sex slavery and prostitution, including underage teens, but it is dealt with well by the author. This was very well written, heart warming and heart breaking, no cheese, plenty of smooth dialogue and a great story. I only had one question: did the ch
