I'm not sure about this novel.

All the ingredients are there for a reasonable lesfic romance, but I felt it lacked a bit of emotion or magic between the two leads. Clearly well researched to provide all the details about Iranian culture and particular medical procedures, but these narratives (particularly the Persian elements) felt like exposition and lacked a natural flow.

Please don't get me wrong, this isn't a bad book, far from it. It could have been so much better.

4 stars. This was such a fun and unique read. I really enjoyed it. It’s not a full five stars only because it did take a while for me to get into this one but it eventually picked up and I loved it. Hope and Laleh meet after Hope saves Laleh’s life after she’s brought into the ER due to her heart condition. They develop a link afterwards. Laleh found that she knew medical things she didn’t before and Hope is fluent in a language she didn’t know previously. It was all so interesting and they bond ...more

This one started slow for me I was what the heck I met my mate while getting shocked. I kept reading and came to like the main characters and seeing where Jae was going with this. I will say that I enjoyed it.

Given ARC from Ylva for a honest review

Do you believe in Magik? Heart Trouble by Jae is a lovely story of two people touched by Magik but looking for a logical answer to what happened to them. Dr Hope Finlay and Laleh Samadi, didn't know each other until Laleh collapsed in the ER admission area. From then on they were connected by a mysterious link neither could explain.
As the story develops the friendship between the two grows. The author develops her character well. She brought seriousness and humor to both her primary and secon

Heart Trouble is a sweet, fluffy romance that I thoroughly enjoyed. There's no world-ending drama or psychopathic killers here, just genuine characters and a sweet developing relationship.

Laleh is a waitress in the middle of a big, loving family. Hope is a distant, professional doctor. One is straight, and the other is guarded. It takes a miracle of unbelievable proportions to start these two on their road together (which I won't mention much, because learning about this is half the fun of readi

In the interest of honesty, I received a free ARC in exchange for a review.

When I first started reading ‘Heart Trouble’, I expected fluff and I was not disappointed. Romantic fluff is an important part of my sanity, it’s my refuge when the rest of the world gets crazy. This story allowed me to escape, and taught me a few things as well! I was pleased to see an element of multiculturalism, woven in such a way that it was a part of the story’s foundation. I fell in love with Laleh (and I cheered h
