The following is the review of Outlander Kindle, Audible, and the show. Since Blood of My Blood started on Hulu, we began rewatching Outlander from the beginning, and I decided to re-read the series. I finished the first book a few days ago. And Drgonfly in Amber. I'm well into Voyager now. I stand by my original review.

It has been several days since I finished book one. I still feel caught in the afterglow of it.. While I was reading it, I binge-watched the show. First with my son and brothe

I'm not sure how to rate this. I mean I really like the story and characters but I struggle with the ending. Not going to spoil anything but I didn't like the "god" talk at all. It really felt preachy and illogical. It was very unnecessary for the story in my opinion. The book is also way too long, there's a lot of stuff she could've cut out but otherwise I did enjoy her writing and again the story is pretty good. ...more

A kind of epic story about well-developed characters and time travel. While there were points where I wanted to strangle the main character, Claire, I generally really liked the read. It was, perhaps, a little more romancey than I generally go for, and having gotten it off a sale shelf am not sure where it is categorized. There are apparently additional books, though, so I might pick those up and see where they go.

I have read the first 5 books in this series, and have started over with plans to finish the entire series. So this was a reread of Outlander, and it was just as great as it was the first time I read it. I am not a fan of the "romance" genre, but I DO LOVE historical fiction so I gave this story a shot, and fell in love with Claire and Jamie. Oh sure, there's sex, but it's not gratuitous and the rest of the adventure is amazing! ...more

I'm FINALLY done! I mostly liked it once I got past the fact that it was really a romance more than focused on being a historical fiction/time travel book.
