Reading anything from Warren Ellis is always a daunting experience. Kind of like seeing a car crash on a highway; you don't wanna look at it, but you can't look way. His stories are replete with hardboiled people you don't want to like, but can't help wanting to succeed. I won't go into the plot; the back flap covers it nicely. The only thing that I'll leave those of you who read 'Crooked Little Vein' is the comfort that this tale isn't quite so bleak. Worth reading.

Violent, dark, often funny. Its Warren Ellis, what can you expect. I did want a little more from the characters and I found the plot a little wanting. I did enjoy it more than Crooked Little Vein, but given my love of Ellis' graphic novels, I was hoping for something a little more.
