I absolutely loved this book!
I grew up on all the science fiction tv shows and movies that someone born in the early 80s would have been exposed to; The X-Files, Babylon 5, (insert any number of movies into this list too, including Star Wars!), and of course all the Star Trek shows. Between Star Wars and Star Trek, I've recently come to the conclusion that I AM in fact a bigger Star Trek fan than Star Wars fan, though, I have plenty of love in my geeky heart for both.

I was curious how Scalzi was going to create a self-aware, "Star Trek" parody without breaching "Galaxy Quest" territory. But thankfully, he manages to carve out his own niche and it's an enjoyable, fast-paced ride. My only quibble is that I wish it could have been a little longer.

I think I understand what "ending" that some people didn't enjoy of but even with that small mark, I really enjoyed this book, especially the Codas.
