It was a quick read. I wasn't expecting it to read like a young adult book, but it did.

Nothing quite gelled for me. Their whole adolescence was way over the top. I actually thought they were pretty cool, but we were told in no small terms they were in NO WAY COOL, AT ALL.

I'm not really sure what the point of the assassin was...?

The best line of the book was, "You celebrate the small victories, and dream of the big ones to come."

You know how bookstores have a section called "Sci-Fi/Fantasy" even though those two genres aren't really alike? That way, when you browse this section, novels like "Robot Death Kaiju Gun Metal Apocalypse" are in the same general area as "Dragon Fairy Wizard Riders of Yyyyyrvrrrnerrrn: Book XXI: The Awakening of the Dreamers of Dawn" despite those books anything little in common except massive page counts? Well, "All the Birds in the Sky" would actually fit in that section.

I really liked this book a lot. A great blending of science and fantasy elements, with a tragic and beautiful story at its core. Really engaging and definitely original.
