If the 5 star rating doesn't make it clear ... I loved this book and will definitely be reading the next in the series.
Now for the spoil-less details.
The action is well paced. Reading was like riding a perfectly designed roller coaster. The highs and lows just right and in just the right places to keep me feeling like I was having the time of my life.
The characters ... all beautifully flawed. I hated, loved, ached for, was irritated with and laughed at/with every single one of them. I loved the ...more

So the first thing you need to know about this book is that it feels like 2 books happening at the same time. The book moves between two narratives, the space opera and the futuristic noir. For the space opera, we're in the head of the idealistic (Some might say naive) Jim Holder, th leader of the surviving crew of the Canterbury. The noir follows Miller, a nihilistic cop who has seen better days who was assigned to find a missing girl, Julie Mao.

Really fun all the way through. One of those books that makes you miss your bus stop because you're enthralled and can't put it down.
