This is my all-time favorite. I love the history and the mystery. Ariana Franklin is a new favorite. Check out the sequel "The Serpent's Tale" released in February 2008. ...more

A woman doctor, a Jew, and a Saracen travel to England in disguise to solve a series of heinous murders during the reign of Henry II. To succeed, they must overcome racial, sexual, and ethnic prejudice; deal with religious fanatics and blind supersition; and confront their own fears.

This is an excellently written, historically accurate, scientifically sound, suspenseful--and most importantly, enjoyable--read!
