I don't know how, but I still managed to sob and scream at the same time when I read parts of the story that I considered to be the climax, even though I've already known what will happen because I read the spoilers. Is that even possible? I had seen it coming, I mean, Dimitri turning into a strigoi, that's like, the most important part in Shadow Kiss (in my opinion, anyways) and I was expecting it, anticipating it even! I love this series. I didn't think I would, but I love the way Richelle Mead writes - it's very conversational and modern, which I think I needed after reading 'The Red Tent'. I love being in the middle of a series because you're familiar with the characters and can get more involved in the story. The end of this book is devastating, and I feel how I did when I was in the middle of reading 'New Moon'. Totally devastating, but beautiful. I can't wait to read the rest of the series. ...more

I thought this book drags you DEEP into the serious. It makes you want to never put the book down. As you go through the book, Rose faces tough decisions and even bigger heartbreak. Can she step up and do what she needs to, or will she back down and cower out. Her life starts here. Make The Choise.

OMG...OH.MY.GOTH....Dimitri ohhh poor rose and Dimitri...so sad how that stupid vamp bit Dimitri i was so happy for him and rose..lol i g=cried so hard and i had to hide from parents cuz its embaressing crying over a book
