The Vampire Academy Series is about Rose Hathaway and and Lissa Dragomir. Rose and Lissa are seventeen years old, best friends, and attending Saint Vladimir’s Academy for Dhampir and Moroi. Rose is a Dhampir, in training to guard her friend Liisa, a Royal Moroi, from the evil Strigoi.

(view spoiler)[In the first book, Vampire Academy, Rose and Lissa ran away from St. Vladimir’s to protect Lissa and her spirit magic. After two years on the run, they are caught and returned to the school where Lissa is being threatened. We discover the threats are coming from her Uncle and Cousin. Her Uncle kidnaps Lissa in hopes of using her spirit magic to heal his disease. Rose and Lissa are connected through a blood bond, which Rose uses to find and save Lissa. In this story we meet Rose’s hot young training instructor, Dimitri Delikov. They train together before and after classes, to help Rose get caught up on the curriculum she missed while on the run. There’s more than just an instructor-student relationship brewing. Lissa finds love with a Royal Moroi boy named Christian. Christian has been an outsider since his parents turned Strigoi and tried to turn him.

In Frostbite, Rose and Lissa are both doing well at St. Vladimir’s Academy. Lissa and Christian are in love and Rose is trying desperately to keep herself out of Lissa’s head when they’re together. Lissa is working with an instructor on her spirit magic, though to keep her safe, the general public believes she has not specialized in magic. Rose is training hard and doing exceptionally well. She’s still trying to keep her feelings for Dimitri controlled, knowing they can’t be together. She tries to distract herself with Mason, another Dhampir Guardian-in-Training, named Mason.

When the Strigoi attack a royal Moroi home, killing the Moroi adults, children, and their Guardians, the school is sent into high alert. Parents and Guardians travel with the school to a ski resort, to protect as many Moroi and young Dhampirs as possible. One of the guardians is Rose’s mother. Rose and her mother have little to no relationship and Rose takes every opportunity to taunt her mother. A second attack on a Moroi home sends the Moroi into panic and they begin discussing other safety options. While the Moroi fight over a solution, Rose and Dimitri fight over their feelings and the possibility of Dimitri accepting a job and life with a Royal Moroi. Lissa meets another royal with Spirit Magic and learns more about herself in the process.

Mason, Eddie, and Mia, run away from the resort to hunt down a nest of Strigoi assumed to be hiding in Spokane, Washington. Rose and Christian go after the group to bring them back before they get caught, or worse killed. They meet up in Spokane and are taken captive by a group of humans, helping the Strigoi. They’re starved from food and blood, dehydrated, and exhausted. Rose devises a plan, kills to Strigoi, and are then rescued by St Vladimir’s Guardians.

When returning home, Rose seeks comfort from her mother and their relationship begins to mend. Dimitri confesses to Rose that he didn’t take the job and life with the royal moroi because of his feelings for Rose. They couple is still torn for their feelings for one another and their responsibility to protect Lissa. The couple kiss and the book ends. (hide spoiler)]

so this is the second vampire academy and it was just as amazing, ha i finished it in a day and a half.

when Isaiah killed mason. This made me hate Strigoi more than anything! I definetly thought he was gonna be Dimitri's main competition. Er and i really dislike how Rose and Mia are sort of friends now..... I mean everything she did to make sure roses' life was a living hell, SHE SAVED HER!!!!!!!! but i do get how rose would feel sorry for her, you know...

re-read... while on holidays :D How I found time I do not know considering I was out the whole time. (ps not sure of dates just got internet so quite random :D )

aaaw so cute!! His heart was always with Rose! How could she doubt it! Ahh I love them when they're both jealous it makes you realise how much they really love eachother. I mean we know how much Rose loves him as it's from her P.O.V but with Dimka you have to notice little things he does! Aaaaaaaaaaw I LOVE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! aaaaaaaw. ...more
