Fun read. The story starts with a big commotion at NYC's Metropolitan Museum of Art and then leads to a fun international chase. The characters are well written and the story is too. I had hestitated on reading this for a while because I was unsure whether this was a poorly wriiten me too Templar story. It is not.

I'm so glad I found James Rollins. He writing style move quickly to fever pitch early in the book and it continues to the end with exciting scientific twists and turns. I first read Alter of Eden, then discovered the group, "Undeniable and Undiscovered Thrillers" which was discussing Rollins. I selected Sandstorm as my next read before the group selected it as the group read. Rollins doesn't disappoint. Rollins here introduces Sigma Force, a group of elite scientific commandos. I'll admit, when I heard the premise for this series all those years ago, I wasn't sure how well it would hold up. But Sandstorm was an awesome adventure, with a particularly interesting hero...I'm not talking about Painter Crowe, future director of Sigma, but rather Omaha Dunn. Why haven't we seen this character again, Jim?

So far, very good.
It's running about a 6 on my deja-vu scale....
Finished. Very good book. Still that mysterious feeling of having read it before was solid by the end.
