This novel was as charming as the beloved characters in this quaint island town. It was like a warm chocolate chip cookie, and I never wanted to stop eating. This novel is told through letters and telegrams, a form of novel that I always enjoy and I don't know why. But I can always hear the different voices of the characters as I read each letter.

The plot in a nutshell is an author who discovers this book club- they didnt start out as a real book club- they live in an island owned by the British

Such a special book. It started off kind of boring, but once I got to know the residence of Guernsey, I fell in love with them. Once again another part of World War II that I knew nothing about.

1. It's a sentimental, charming, fluffy read.
2. A book about books.
3. The letters from the people from Guernsey to Juliet were interesting. Great characters.
4. I loved reading about the occupation of Guernsey by the Germans during WWII.
5. Guernsey sounds wonderful. Would like to visit one day.

A bit on the downside...
1. Having trouble following the letters back and forth at the beginning.
2. (view spoiler)

When I first started to read this book I was not liking it, but as I continued to read I found myself really liking the book. The story is told by letters to and from Juliet. I enjoyed this book more the I thought I would when first starting it.

Love learning a bit about the history of the time...fictional or not! Have to say I now know where Guernsey is located! Story of people and their lives after/during occupation.
