What Members Thought

Good quick gothic narrative with an excellent narrator, Lynn Redgrave. Vida Winter's story was intriguing and she was a much more interesting character than Margaret. I liked this novel but didn't love it. Plus, I still have questions that were left unanswered. Many readers really enjoyed this book so you might too. 3 1/2 ★s!

So many good things to say about this book. I have read where it has started off slow for some readers, it was just the opposite for me. It began with so much going on and I had a hard time putting it down. So many twists and turns. And the storytelling by Miss Winters kept me wanting more. I loved the writing style of Diane Setterfield. Can't wait to read more by her.

This book isn't what I expected it to be. I liked it, but, strangely enough liked the beginning of it and less so, the end. It was still a good read, easy, quick and a nice change of pace from my other reading forays these days.

Hmmm. Not sure i get what all the hype was about for this book. Interesting premise. It just felt LONG. Ending was interesting, and didn't see what happened coming... but also a bit sad.
